Merce Rodoreda: Death in spring

A cobloggers review of Merce's deeply dark and morbid book about a violently savage village - that eerily resembles postwar Spain - she wrote it from her spot of exile of Geneva, where she spent years publishing her writing, quietly, waiting for the day she could return home to Catalunya.
